Special Projects Responsibilities

Construction Supervisors
 
Surveys and inspects sites and projects to determine materials, labor needs, and cost estimates.
 
Coordinates work schedules with the project scheduler, the site administrator, other trades, Modernization Services and New School Construction.
 
Plans, schedules, supervises and inspects the work of the Skilled Trades, Skilled Trades Assistants, and contracted service employees.
 
Monitors progress of work and provides final approval or disapproval.
 
Analyzes rehab construction ship inventory and initiates requests for equipment, supplies, and materials.
 
Communicates with vendors/contractors regarding the order and purchase of equipment and materials.
Asbestos Planner/Project Scheduler
 
Plans, schedules, and coordinates projects for asbestos response actions.
 
Consults with contractors, engineers, and/or factory representatives concerning the work, materials and equipment necessary to support a safe work environment.
 
Initiates and schedules work orders for asbestos projects and coordinates with school activities, renovations, and Maintenance schedules.
 
Prepares and updates floor plans on CAD system for incorporation into school asbestos management plans, showing areas where asbestos-containing materials are located.
 
Checks plans, specifications and work orders to determine the extent of asbestos and the involvement required for additions, renovations, and Maintenance projects.
 
Develops drawings, translates inspection data, work orders and other construction documents to usable record drawings.
Project Scheduler
 
Develops time estimates and project work schedules.
 
Monitors flow of project schedules to identify abnormal trends or opportunity for improvement.
 
Coordinates with various CCSD departments to maintain project schedules.
 
Collects information and report time estimates and project schedules for the development of project reports.
 
Works with CCSD staff regarding project schedule changes or deviations.
Facility Quality Assurance/Control Construction Inspector/Manager
 
Determine quality assurance methodology ant techniques to be used in inspecting structures, systems materials or facilities.
 
Conducts quality assurance audits and prepares reports documenting the findings. Develops corrective actions to support task problems and failures, monitors corrective actions, and conducts follow-up evaluations of quality/workmanship.
 
Coordinates, interfaces and acts as a liaison with other trades/craft work units to accomplish assigned work.
 
Provides technical and operational support and/or services to ensure quality assurance standards are met in providing support to various project tasks.
 
Inspects site work and building construction to insure compliance with plans, specifications of construction material wan workmanship, applicable state and local building codes, ordinances, regulations and project progress. Issues violation notices and performs follow-up inspections to correct violations and discrepancies with prints, specifications and codes.
 
Assists and advises staff in matters relating to quality and completion of projects.
Facility Services Representative (Portable Classrooms)
 
Provides the school administrators with a single point-of-contact regarding portable classrooms.
 
Communicates with school administrators and regional superintendents regarding various activities on a school's campus.
 
Provides coordination and communication for facility-related projects.
 
Serves as a liaison between Facilities Division departments.
 
Generates, reviews and analyzes work orders.
 
Works with school administrators, maintenance personnel and planners to complete the annual portable classroom needs assessment.
 
Produces school/facility profile for renovations.
 
Initiates steps to correct problems identified at school facilities.
 
Determines and confirms warranty issues.
 
Surveys vandalism and plans corrective action.
