We, in Engineering Services, continually strive to provide excellent service to the students of the Clark County School District. We are committed to producing quality products, and offer our clients, customers, and associates an obligation to design and review designs to exacting detail, in creating environments for enhancing the learning experience.

Engineering Services has an active and participatory roll in many projects that includes reviewing design contract documents for annual plan modernization projects of existing facilities and new facilities, which are produced by outside the district design consultants, for conformance to school district design criteria, and construction standards.

We also provide professional expertise for inspection and analysis of existing facilities, to produce assessment reports. We are responsible for the design and preparation of Contract Documents for construction, for a variety of projects, which may be performed in-house by school district construction personnel, or may be used for Construction Contracts outside the district, through Rehab Modernization Services.

Engineering Services Responsibilities
		Reviewing the initial project needs.
		Preparing the scope of work needed.
		Establishing estimated cost of construction.
		Recommending the Architect/Engineer (A/E) to design the project (if outside consultant is required).
		Reviewing the A/E fee proposals.
		Preparing contracts for A/E for study and report projects.
		Reviewing/approving the plans and specifications for Architectural, Civil, Electrical and Mechanical portions of the project.
		Reviewing construction cost estimates.
		Attending pre-construction and bid opening meetings.
		Establishing, or assisting in establishing, construction phasing.
		Coordinating work to be done by Special Projects during project construction.
		Coordinating work for special systems, such as telephones and data drops, required for dislocating administrative and computer spaces during construction.
		Attending construction progress meetings.
		Attending the building commissioning meetings.
		Observing the construction progress for conformity with the design intent.
